About Petra

Hey I’m Petra, a writer, speaker, and entrepreneur dedicated to helping people live to their fullest potential - no matter what’s in their past.

I grew up in one of the most notorious religious cults, lived all over the world in communes and was raised to believe the end of the world was coming so I didn’t go to school and instead, was raised as “Gods Endtime Soldier.”

I became an expert at playing by the rules and adapting to whatever people wanted me to be on the outside while slowly spiralling into despair and questioning what it was all about on the inside.

At 26 I’d left the cult and by then had two kids, a raving alcohol addiction and wanted desperately for my life to end.

Rock bottom was brutal. Emotionally and mentally tortured, I desperately gave myself a 1-year deadline - a deadline to take my life.  In that year I experimented with all the things people said gave them a good life, even though I didn’t feel it or believe it.

Gratitude, movement, sobriety, connection, honesty, therapy… You name it, I tried it.

That year came and went and life wasn’t perfect but I learned a few things…

I learned that I could teach myself to be happy.

That I could take full and total responsibility for my mental health.

That being a victim of my past was a state of mind. I COULD reinvent my story.

Once I was sober and actually wanted to be here, I continued learning, learning, learning. Everything I could I learned, I practiced and experimented.

I trained in youth mental health, psychotherapy, coaching and received my Masters in Psychodynamics of Human Development. I worked for others, gained experience eventually leaving the employee wellbeing industry due to the hypocrisy of telling others how to live better while behaving just as toxic themselves and set out to find another way…

A way where me and my team practice what we teach and my business now helps others do the same. To learn to…

Take responsibility for our mental health.

Be the change we want to see in the cultures we’re in and that together we can create a better world of work. Today I share a message of hope and accountability.

Through my weekly email, books, YouTube channel and Podcasts I share how you too can build a better life - no matter what’s in your past.

I also help People and Culture Leaders  fan the flame of activism and join a revolution for changing the way we work.
